Sports Massage / Custom Bodywork FAQ Suggestions

1. What is sports massage, and how is it different from a regular massage?

Sports massage focuses on performance, recovery, and injury prevention. It combines techniques like deep tissue, stretching, and trigger point work to support an active lifestyle.

2. Do I have to be an athlete to book a session?
Not at all! If you move your body regularly—whether it’s lifting weights, running, cycling, or hitting fitness classes—this work is for you.

3. What should I wear to my session?
Depending on the type of work, shorts and a sports bra or tank top are ideal. This allows for movement-based work and stretching. I’ll guide you based on your goals.

4. Can I get a massage on the same day as a workout or race?
Yes, but the type of massage may vary. Pre-event sessions are lighter and stimulating, while post-event sessions focus more on recovery and reducing soreness.

5. How often should I get bodywork done?
It depends on your training volume and goals. Some clients come weekly during intense cycles, others come biweekly or monthly for maintenance.

6. Does it hurt?
Some techniques may be intense, but I always work within your comfort level. Communication is key—I want your body to feel better, not beat up.

7. How long is a session?
Most sessions are 60 or 90 minutes, customized to what your body needs most that day.

8. What areas do you typically work on?
That depends on your sport and goals, but common focus areas include hips, glutes, hamstrings, calves, shoulders, and low back.

9. Can this help with injuries or chronic tightness?
Yes—sports massage can support injury recovery, reduce compensation patterns, and improve mobility over time.

10. Where are you located?
9330 Broadway Ste. 329, Pearland TX, 77584. We’re in the Silverlake Plaza II shopping center.  We’re on the second floor of the StarTex building.
